Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hermes II Project?
Please see the About the Hermes II Project section of our
web page for more information on the Hermes II Project.

Is Olympus accessible via modem?
No, Olympus is no longer accessible via modem. While we will continue to
support modem access into the Hermes II BBS, our primary focus is Internet
connectivity. We believe that this is the future of BBS’ing and that is where
we are focusing a majority of our efforts. We are still receiving FidoNet
echoes and plan on continuing to support FidoNet in Hermes II. To replace the
loss of modem access, Olympus is now available on the Internet. Check out
this page for more information.

What is Olympus’ FidoNet node number?

Olympus’ FidoNet node number is 1:143/27.0@fidonet.org.

Is OlympusNet still being hosted by Olympus?
Yes. Although Olympus itself does not have a dial-in modem, we have been
polling other Hermes II BBSs to drop off the OlympusNet echoes. If you are
interested in receiving an OlympusNet feed, please send us
email so we can get you on the poll
list.

I have a bug to report, where do I send it?
All bug reports should be posted to the Bug Reports conference on Olympus
or the HERMES_BUGS echo on OlympusNet. Do not send bug reports via email,
it is much more difficult for us to track them that way.

I have other questions, where do I send them?
Sending email to info@HermesII.org will
make sure that your questions are routed to the person who can best answer
them.
